Crash on Mandela Highway ... Three persons seriously hurt

Police are currently on the scene of a serious motor vehicle crash which took place at the Caymans Crossing in St Catherine.

At least three people are said to be seriously injured. They, along with several others, have been taken to hospital. 

A policeman attached to the Ferry Police station said the accident occurred about 10 a.m. It involved a Toyota Hiace passenger bus and a Nissan Sunny motor car which was travelling in opposite directions. 

The driver of one of the vehicles is said to have disobeyed the traffic light, resulting in the collision. Two people were in the Nissan Sunny. They were unconscious and bleeding while being taken to hospital. 

The police officer was unable to determine the number of persons in the Hiace bus.
