Alanso McKoy, owner of Target Systems sound system, is a big admirer of the achievements of the legendary Winston 'Wee Pow' Powell and his world-renowned sound system, Stone Love.

Over the last few years, Target Systems has carved out an impressive niche for itself in Central Jamaica, largely because of the inspiration provided by Stone Love.

"Target systems aims to reach the world with music, reggae music, following in the footsteps of Stone Love and Bass Odyssey, especially Stone Love that I admire greatly for their professionalism and for being so consistent for 42 years. Wee pow is a legend in the music arena, and will be for a long time to come," McKoy said.

Unique sound system

The sound, a heavy-bass sound system, has built up a reputation for vibesy juggling, ice-cube clear sound and great selections across a wide genre of musical styles such as retro, reggae, soca and R&B.

"Target Systems is a unique sound system that has the heart of the Jamaican people at its core, which is dancehall music," he said.

The sound system, with DJs Al, Screemers, Clayon and Stunna, has earned major props as the resident sound at Wray and Nephew White Overproof Rum Target Thursdays at the Zero Sports Bar, Spur Tree, Manchester.
