On November 4, Lil Wayne's Miami Beach mansion was raided by police and his assets were seized in connection with a civil case involving the rapper and a private jet leasing company.

Last month, Lil Wayne was slapped with a US$2 million lawsuit by Signature Group for over 2 years of missed payments.

Court documents obtained by US media showed that the jet leasing company had tried to obtain a "break order" from a Miami judge, which would allow police to enter Wayne's house with or without permission.

This was denied because the group couldn't prove there were valuable assets on the premises.

However Signature Group was able to secure an affidavit (sworn statement) from a real estate agent who could prove that he had been in Weezy's house and that there were valuable assets inside.

The judge therefore signed a new order on October 30th, giving Signature Group the right to take Lil Wayne's assets for the money he owes them.

Rolling Stone Online reports that helicopter footage shows the police hauling items from the rappers home in a truck.

It is reported that they also took artwork worth some US$30 million.

Lil Wayne, 33, has not given a comment to mainstream media but took to Twitter to express how he felt after the raid.

" ... my kids & their mothers r EVERYTHING & dat I know, so on the days? everything, I use dat as the answer 2 it all. "
