R Dane ready for musical success

Reggae artiste R Dane has his sights set on a lasting career in music. The New York-based singer recently released two songs, Hold On and Tropical Girl.

Originally from Whitehall Avenue in Kingston, he

migrated to the US 29 years ago. Though he has always had a passion for music, it wasn't until a year ago that he decided to follow his musical pursuits.

Born Dane Johnson, the singer and songwriter is marked as an emergent force for international notoriety.

R Dane does not consider himself as only a singer/performer of the art, but an artiste in every sense of the word. Evident in his lyrics is the sense of the preservation of his connection with the Jamaican heritage while succeeding in sounding strikingly current.

new catalogue

He intends to create a catalogue of life-changing, soul-searching and thought-provoking music. His acute observation of and insight into the everyday experiences, fused with his artistic writing and singing, have sealed his destiny. In his own words: "The sky is the limit, but the limit is not the sky."

The artiste says his long-term goals include becoming the next big thing in reggae music while impacting lives through music.
