D-Medz Live hits Clarendon

It would be an understatement to say that the D-Medz Empower Live Concert series hit Clarendon with a bang. The fast-rising reggae star delivered a spectacular performance at the event. The live concert series, which has played in several venues across the island, rolled into Clarendon recently and left patrons mesmerised with performance from Esco Levi, Kashu Man, Jah Bouks, Kenny Smith, Iba Mahr and D-Medz.

"It's a long time coming. I haven't performed in Clarendon in a long while, so the momentum was building up for a great night of musical entertainment," D-Medz said following his one hour-long set at Fyahside bar and grill, Toll Gate.

The Clarendon's leg of the live series concert got under way with Kenny Smith (of Rising Star fame) belting out a number of his tracks, and crowd favourites. When he gave way to Iba Mahr, the frenzied music fans were uncontainable as they danced and sang with the Rastafarian singer, word for word.

Iba Mahr was also instrumental in the introduction of Esco Levi, who gave a masterful but short performance, eliciting forward after forward before Iba Mahr closed out his set with a encore and made way for D-Medz.

He opened with Better Days Are Coming, Speaker Box, and Road Tonight before calling on Kashu Man, who also performed a brilliant but short set. D-Medz then resumed with favourites from his Empower EP, including the controversial Vote Fah and Mama before introducing Jah Bouks, who did a few songs before exiting. He departed with an encore.

D-Medz closed out his segment with Rebel Souljah and his first number-one hit, Champion.
