Genrile to release 'Ikons' next week
Dancehall artiste Gentile will be releasing a new single called 'Ikons' next week.
The song was leaked on the artiste's Instagram, Facebook and soundcloud accounts, and the buzz has been so favourable that Gentile is fast-tracking plans to shoot a video.
"The main idea behind the song is to document my journey and where mi reach musically. It is difficult to emulate the great work that the icons did, but I am going to get there. So this song sums up all the fight we fight musically to reach even here, and the fight that you have to go through to be somebody in this life," Gentile said.
Produced by Fyba Glass Music, and recorded at Gentile's home-based studio on Molynes Road, Kingston, the song is already an insider sensation with its catchy chorus which declares: 'Mi waan reach weh the icons deh'.
"The song was mixed and mastered at Di Lab Studios in Ocho Rios by Fyba Glass and Christopher Coombs, CEO of Di Lab records. We will be shooting a video for the song, which will be directed by Magix by Art and Fyba Glass Music," he said.
The single wll be distributed by Sony music and will be available on all digital outlets, including iTunes, Tydal, Amazon and Spotify.
"We will also be releasing merchandising such as 'Ikons' t-shirts and fitted caps, which will be available for purchase islandwide. Just 'pree' my social media pages for more details and release dates," he said.
In the meantime, Gentile's Cliq video continues to do well. He can be contacted on Twitter and IG @gentileoutlawthug and on Facebook: gentile outlaw.
