Standout London-based reggae artiste Lov'Ella celebrated her birthday last week with the release of a hot music video for her latest single, Loving You Baby.

The singer, whose given name is Lovella Ellis, was born in the United Kingdom (UK) and has strong roots in Jamaica. Daughter of legendary rocksteady icon Alton Ellis, she is one of his musically gifted offspring who is doing well and carrying on his

legacy.

SINGING MANTLE

Lov'Ella started singing at an early age but took on the business full time after the mantle was handed to her and her siblings with the passing of their father in 2008. Since then, she has carved out a solid reputation as an arresting and versatile performer and recording artiste.

Lov'Ella recorded Willow Tree in 2009 as a tribute to the legend himself, and also Love on Top, which proved to be very popular with DJs in the UK and overseas. She won the Community Music Arts Award in 2011 for Best Crossover Act, and in 2012, covered the song Come Out to Play. Her version became an instant hit and stayed in Choice FM's UK Official Reggae Chart for four weeks at number 2.

In 2013, she was awarded the Best British Female Newcomer by the British Recording Industry Association. She was also nominated for the BEFFA in the Best Unsigned Act category in 2013, and again in 2014, she was a nominee for Best UK Reggae Act.

After taking some time off from the UK reggae scene, Lov'Ella is back in 2016 with the release of the catchy Loving You Baby.
