WINNIN RIDDIM competition launched
Pepsi Jamaica has launched the WINNIN RIDDIM competition for music producers from ages 13 to 35.
The competition, which has been endorsed by music industry icons such as Sean Michael Harris and Mikey Bennett, was launched at the Terra Nova Hotel in New Kingston recently. The launch was hosted by ZJ Rush.
Beat-makers can enter by uploading their rhythms via the WINNIN RIDDIM Facebook App until February 10, 2016. As part of the promotion, the WINNIN RIDDIM team will conduct a school tour to select high schools where sponsors and industry mentors can interact with the students.
Top producers will judge the rhythms, and the top 40 selected will be posted to the WINNIN RIDDIM Facebook page, where the public can vote for their favourite.
Follow WINNIN RIDDIM on social media for updates and to win prizes. The winning producer will walk away with attractive prizes, including a Mac Book loaded with Pro Tools and a record deal with a renowned record company.
At the launch, music industry legend and veteran producer Michael 'Ibo' Cooper entertained the audience with the history of rhythms, sharing sounds and songs to which all could relate. He welcomed the competition, highlighting that rhythm is at the heart of the production of any song.
Also present were musicians, producers and artistes, including ZJ Liquid, Cecile, The Wizard, Donovan Germaine, and Arif Cooper, among others.
