I Remember Mama promises a treat

The third staging of 'I Remember Mama' promises to be, "a treat for your mother, and a blessing for everybody else", assures promoter of the gospel-based event, Melicia Green.

The concert, to be held at Celebration Church, Portmore Skating Rink on Sunday, boasts a dynamic line-up of gospel artistes to suit a wide range of palates.

It will feature popular acts such as Minister Jermaine Edwards; up-and-coming gospel, group I Worship, which Green said will appeal to the younger generation of Christians; the energetic Rondell Positive; saxophonist Verlando Small and up-and-coming songstress Ariana Whyte.

"Based on that line-up, there is something for everyone to be blessed by," said Green.

Between performances, patrons can visit instant-photo booths to capture memories with their beloved mothers and friends, free of cost. Patrons will also be treated to refreshment, which includes yogurt and wine. These additions are among improvements made to ensure that this year's staging is bigger and better than previous years, Green said.

"We learn from our patrons, each year, how we can adjust and improve to make the next event better. We try to tailor a package for everybody," Green explained.

Organiser Camille 'Sandy' Coke is confident lives will be transformed at the concert. Nine people gave their lives to God over the last two stagings. The show kicks off at 6 p.m. Admission is $1,000 for adults and $500 for children.
