Celcius 'refixes' Rihanna's 'Work'
Inspired by the mantra, 'No one is perfect', deejay Celcius has recorded and released what he calls the refix to pop icon Rihanna's mega hit, 'Work', for Kern Spencer's Super K Production.
"As much as Rihanna is a talented singer and songwriter, her latest hit song, Work, isn't necessarily a masterpiece, but Celcius the genius has fixed all of that," the May Pen, Clarendon-based deejay declared in explaining his rationale for the refix.
Celcius, who admitted to being a big fan of the Bajan-born pop icon, says after listening to Rihanna's version, he began experimenting with his own version before recording a demo on his phone.
The deejay further explained that after recording the demo, he posted the recording to his social media pages and the response from his fan base was overwhelming.
"Everybody is saying this is Rihanna's refix, from a simple demo that I recorded on my phone and posted on my social media pages and things went crazy," the deejay said. "That's how Kern (Spencer) heard my version and give it his liking, and from there, we agreed to do a professional recording of the song at Super K's Studio in St Elizabeth."
He noted that since the released of his version of the popular reggae-flavoured pop song, he has landed interviews on a number of mainstream programmes, including television and a number of radio stations.
Celcius admitted that his ultimate aim is to meet the singer for a collaboration of Work.
