Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago's long-standing rivalry was turned up a few more decibels last night at Sabina Park.

The Jamaica Tallawahs hosted the Trinbago Knight Riders in one of the marquee games of Caribbean Premier League 2016. Revenge was on the minds of the twin islanders as Jamaica had beaten them in Port-of-Spain earlier in the tournament.

The Jamaican crowd was in the mood early as any Knight Rider who had the misfortune of fielding near the boundary heard it from the crowd.

"No champion pon we tonight," they chanted from the party stand at Trinbago talisman Dwayne Bravo, mocking his hit song and dance.

Reggae hits from Chronixx, Junior Gong and Protoje thumped from speakers, getting an already juiced up crowd moving even more. It was the perfect opening for what was expected to be an evenly contested match. Nesbeth's My Dream followed closely by some dancehall only raised the temperature higher before the first ball was bowled.

DJ Smoke made sure to add a fair dose of soca inbetween the copious helpings of dancehall. King of dancehall Beenie Man, at first going a cappella, ensured the vibe didn't die down and that spectators were more than satisfied regardless of outcome.
