The quiet lawns of the Aqueduct in Montego Bay, St James, hosted the inaugural staging of the High Vibes Roots and Reggae Festival last weekend.

Soon after its 3 p.m. start, patrons slowly flooded the grounds roaming the craft village, eye shopping and purchasing souvenirs. Early acts Zia, Thurston and Blvk H3ro set the evening's tone for headliners.

Lee 'Scratch' Perry and backing band Submatomic unique sound had patrons grooving to Panic in Babylon, I Am A Madman, Disco Devil and Fussing & Fighting. Kassiano Smith added a spin on his set, performing his singles in both Spanish and English.

As expected Ky-Mani Marley, Beenie Man and Rick Ross all delivered high-energy performances. Minutes after 3 a.m. Rick Ross closed the show, leaving patrons wanting more.
