Chevan releases 'dividends' in October
Reggae star Chevan Clarke, an artiste widely regarded as one of the best vocalists Jamaica has ever produced, will be releasing a new single called 'Dividends' next month.
"Dividends is an uptempo beat. It is about people not getting their fair share, and so they demand their dividends. Is a song for the working man, for every man who is struggling to feed his family. It is a cry for the fair share for the working man trying to meet his responsibilities by any means necessary," he said.
Once known as Jah Selah, this ultra-talented artiste scored a minor hit almost eight years ago with Lonely Girl, but migrated to the US soon afterwards, where he opened up a successful business. He cut his trademark locks and is back in music with a bang.
Last month, he released a single and video for Friends, where he sings about the true nature of friendship.
"The video got a lot of feedback. It got rotation on HYPE and SWAG, the single is getting a lot of views on Facebook, and the rotation is up on the radio," he said.
Released in the first week of June on the C&N Records label, Friends sees Chevan's voice soaring masterfully over the compelling track.
