Raging Fyah excited about Everlasting Tour
Raging Fyah's keyboard player Demar Gayle said that he and his bandmates are excited about its upcoming Everlasting Tour.
The band will be playing at venues in 20 American states between January 24 and March 10 and will benefit from the Jamaican Government's support under the Artist Ambassador Tour Support Programme.
Gayle said that he is especially looking forward to their stop in Las Vegas, Nevada, as it has what he describes as a warm spirit, and said that everyone wants to go there.
He is also looking forward to their shows in California as well. He adds that the southern states are more welcoming to the band because they like slower music, including ska, and as such, they relate to the band's sound.
For this reason, he said that he is expecting a warmer reception to their music in the states with smaller towns than those with larger cities.
"The more rural you go, the more relatable they are to our music," Gayle said.
"Maybe their lifestyle is similar so they can relate to some of the things we sing about more than in the Tri-States or some of the major cities."
Raging Fyah has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of Album of the Year for their album Everlasting.
"I think we have a great chance, because our album stands out in a unique way in terms of the message, and also the production that we put into it. It's a top-class production, so I know the analysts who listen to these genres and understand the intricacies of what makes a genre interesting or unique, will analyse those in our album and know that that's what makes it special," Gayle said.
Raging Fyah's fans will know the band's fate at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards to be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, on February 12.
PROMOTE BRAND JAMAICA
Meanwhile, Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange said that Raging Fyah, through this programme, will help to promote Brand Jamaica across the United States.
"The main objectives of the Artist Ambassador Tour Support Programme is to capitalise on the synergies between touring artists and Brand Jamaica, to provide greater exposure for touring artistes through official association with the ministry and with Brand Jamaica," Minister Grange said.
