Bob Marley parade intensifies on iTune Chart
There are no prizes on offer for predicting the top-two albums on the iTunes Reggae Albums Chart. The Bob Marley and the Wailers Legend pair - Remastered and Deluxe editions - have a stranglehold on the top-two positions, occasionally and very briefly broken by a new album.
That holds for the current listing, but the Gong and crew's dominance is reinforced even further by the album, Gold, moving into the fourth spot. Only Set in Stone (Stick Figure), in the third spot, is preventing them from having trifecta.
And since Stick Figure's Burial Ground is at number five, two performers have the top-five albums on the chart.
The new set, Na'an Stop (by Na'an Stop), is at number six and there are some accustomed sets and performers - Get Soca 2017 (Various Artistes), Time Bomb (Iration), and Falling Into Place (Rebelution) - in the lower half of the top 10.
After sets from Rebelution, more from Bob Marley and the Wailers, Shaggy and Toots and the Maytals between positions 11 and 20, the Damian Marley, Buju Banton, UB40 and Peter Tosh between 21 and 30, the chart looks mind-numbingly familiar up to all the way at 70, when there's a new release in Silly Walks Discotheque Presents Onward Riddim, for which Shuga has the title track.
The respite is brief, though, as Jr Gong's Half-Way Tree is right behind at 71.
