Ruffi-Ann delivers exciting performance at Marcus Garvey Celebrations

Reggae artiste Ruffi-Ann is arguably one of the most enduring female artistes in Jamaican music.

The St Catherine-born deejay, who began her career in the 1990s as a dancehall artiste under the moniker Lady Shabba, has evolved into a top-class stage act.

Ruffi-Ann was in fine form when she performed at the recently held Marcus Garvey Celebrations which took place in Ocho Rios on August 20.

Ruffi-Ann held the large audience in attendance captivated as she performed songs such as Save The Juvenile and Poor Caan Tek It No more.

"I had a great time performing at the Marcus Celebrations. Although my time on stage was short, I delivered a potent set, and the people loved it," said Ruffi-Ann.

The Marcus Garvey Celebrations is an annual event staged to celebrate the life and work of Jamaica's pan-Africanist civil rights leader and first national hero.

Ruffi-Ann is currently promoting a new single titled Close To Your Enemy. The song was produced by the artiste and released on her My Sugar Production label in July.
