Inappropriate - social media blasts Curvy Diva for 'Christmas twerk'

Media personality-recording artiste Yanique 'Curvy Diva' Barrett was blasted by social users over a raunchy post she made on Christmas Day.

While several dancehall stars - including Spice, Konshens, Sean Paul, Agent Sasco, and D'Angel - took the time out to upload adorable photos with their family as they celebrated the festivities, Curvy Diva opted to post a twerking Christmas video, which angered some social media users.

"Welllllll merry much," the Lifestyle singer captioned the video, which racked up over 70,000 views. "Watch my snapchat!!!! Yaniquecurvy for more bad behaviour," she added.

The post did not sit well with some social media users.

"You're such a poor excuse for a woman, Yanique, this is Christmas and look how you're acting," one user wrote, while another added "Where her daughter at? Everybody posting pics of their family but she is posting vids of her ass. Okay, moving right along."

After much backlash, Curvy Diva had to turn off the social media comments on her page.

Speaking with THE WEEKEND STAR earlier this week, the entertainer said that she believed that there was some overreaction from those persons who found the video offensive.

"I realistically don't celebrate Christmas coming from a Seventh-Day Adventist household. However, I respect everyone's choice in terms of their religion and denomination, and whatever they do doesn't affect me really," she said.
