I Love Soca hits Sabina for six
I Love Soca created quite a spectacle as soca crazy patrons partied the night away at Sabina Park in Kingston on Wednesday.
Even though it was a soca party, selectors as well as dancehall artistes were allowed to express themselves lyrically with the genre which is indigenous to Jamaica.
Soca star Skinny Fabulous said his Jamaican colleagues were more than friends, they were like family. Immediately the selector thumped Popcaan's hit tune of the same name.
Skinny Fabulous then brought up Chi Ching Ching and veteran dancehall artiste Beenie Man, who was given a resounding forward.
Before them, soca icon Allison Hinds brought energy to the event as she gyrated, danced, jumped and pranced and had the crowd thoroughly entertained.
When she brought up one of her hits Togetherness, the crowd lost it, and revelling took centre stage.
Ding Dong and his Ravers Clavers crew were a crowd favourite, with their catchy dance songs captivating the audience.
Ding Dong went in the crowd to be close to his fans as he performed, and when he returned to the stage, he called up the big man himself, Usain Bolt, who had an interesting dance-off with Silent Ravers, the creator of the popular Lebeh Lebeh dance.
Even after all the performers left the stage, more than half of the patrons stayed back to soak up more soca music.
