When the news of Niko Chromatic's passing hit social media, members of the disc jockey community were almost in disbelief. For the most part, the assumption was that the ailing selector was almost in Cuba where he would undergo a life-improving surgery for his kidney disease.

DJ Fyah Startah made numerous posts, including a video and images from the last event he attended with the departed selector on April 15. The caption read: "Never knew it would be the last time I'd see and talk to you bredah. It was a great party and a great night. Sleep well Nicholas, your pain is over. Kim, be weak when you must grieve, but you know his pain has come to an end. Nuff Love."

He continued to post his gratitude to Niko Chromatic, sharing that the DJ did a lot for him and music.

DJ Delano hailed Niko Chromatic as being a 'silent storm'. He wrote: "Niko Chromatic was a good yute, respectful, quiet, but very good at his job. Part of the sound system/selector family always. Sleep in Peace. My condolences go out to his family and friends."

DISTRAUGHT

DJ Karyzma was distraught having recalled that the Chromatic selector sent a message via Instagram this past weekend, congratulating him on his college graduation.

"You told me congrats, and I wanted to ask how you feeling, but I said to myself that's a dumb question because I already know the answer. But now I regret not having that conversation. Thanks [Niko Chromatic] for all the late nights and early morning reasoning; for the jokes and being genuine to everyone, not to mention thanks for blessing us with your talent. We love and miss you bro. Sleep Well."

His teammates, Creep and JR were at a loss for words, but they paid tributes by creating collages of images taken with Niko as they expressed that their hearts were broken having lost a good friend and legend.
