Harry Toddler slams negative fans - Sad that plea to help daughter was misunderstood
Dancehall artiste Harry Toddler says he is taken aback by all the negative attention his plea for financial assistance for his sick daughter has been getting.
Toddler said he is surprised and disappointed that the plea has been spun into a drama with persons throwing 'shade' and hate at him and his Downsound Entertainment team.
Toddler’s 15-year-old daughter, Iceices Jackson has a heart condition and needs to undergo a life-saving surgery next month.
Earlier this month, the deejay took to Instagram to ask for the public’s assistance but his cry for help has been met with much negativity.
People have been questioning where all the deejay’s earnings over the years have gone.
They have also been very brutal in their comments about Downsound, pointing out that with the head of their company being ‘well-off’ financially, Toddler should have no issues coming up with the funds.
Speaking with The WEEKEND STAR about how the situation has unfolded, Toddler sought to put to rest rumours that he is financially unstable and that his team has been less than supportive during this difficult time.
“If anybody know Harry Toddler, dem know how emotional I am and dis a me daughter weh me love so much so when she come to me and ask me to help her with this thing, honestly, me never a think bout no team, me just did a think bout doing wah she ask," he said. "Me know once me say anything to Joe (Downsound boss Joe Bogdanovich), Joe a go help. Skatta, Mr Daley, everybody. The amount a problem Joe help me wid, anuh everything me ago run go to him.”
Toddler noted that the GoFundMe account was his daughter's idea. He said she created it and asked him for help to get the news out there.
"What kind of father would I be? Me never know people coulda be so negative, I swear to God,” he said.
Toddler said despite the drama, he has no regrets because his daughter is happy he supported her and that is all that matters.
"She going through a hard time right now and fi know say people reach out to her from all over the world, she happy,” he said. “I feel so good when she call me and tell me thanks. Me glad me coulda do my part fi help make her happy so me nuh care wah people wah say. Me just wish people never so small minded and try fi do everything to bring down a next person.”
