Unknown Gringo speeds off with 'Vroom Vroom'
Dancehall artiste Unknown Gringo is getting huge buzz with his latest single, 'Vroom Vroom', which was released on the Chase Mills Records label two weeks ago.
"This is the perfect summer song. The ladies really love it, and the single is playing in the dances from Montego Bay to the Corporate Area. Dexta Peppa a play it inna Montego Bay, Boom Boom and Harry Hype a play it at Uptown Mondays, Duane Pow a play it, plus, the song is on all the new mixtapes," said the artiste, whose given name is Frantz Morris.
Unknown Gringo also shot a music video for the song last week in his native parish of Trelawny. He will be releasing the video on his VEVO channel on YouTube in the next two weeks. The single will be officially released via iTunes this month.
Earlier this year, Unknown Gringo had released a single called Put Down The Gun, which was released on January 5 via his Desconocido Music label and was available on iTunes and other platforms.
"I come from Flanker, which is known as a hostile area in Montego Bay. I have seen a lot of violence growing up, and I still have family in the community, so I want to be an agent of change. I have experienced violence and never chose that way, and eventually I came out to be somebody because I now have a career in music. The gun is not the way," he continued.
The deejay said that he believes an individual is in control of his destiny and that negative environmental influences can be resisted.
"You choose your destiny, you choose your path. The community where you grew up cannot determine your fate as a person," he said.
He said he will be pushing along to release a slew of new singles, such as Brawling and Cute Cute, for the Chase Mills Records label.
