Pan chicken women dominated this year's grand final of CB's PAN 2018, as the females copped first and second place at the 13th annual installation of the food festival.

Aldene Allen from Hanover and Lesma Huie from Clarendon took second and first place, respectively, as the competition came to a close on Sunday at the National Stadium car park. Andre Lawson from St James was the third-place winner.

Huie could not contain her excitement when her name was called. As she celebrated her victory, she revealed to MC Miss Kitty that it had been a dream of hers to win the competition. She said that despite obstacles along the journey, she was determined to walk away the champion. Not only did she walk away with the 2018 title, but she also received more than $500,000 in prizes, including the $350,000 allotted by title sponsors CB Chicken.

Runner up Aldene Allen walked away with $150,000, while the third place winner, Lawson, took home $75,000.

The aroma of jerked chicken filled the atmosphere as pans blazed until way into the evening. As opposed to prior years, there were zero complaints about the long wait for chicken or that there wasn't enough of the tasty treat to supply the huge crowd. The change of venue from the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre seemed to have gone down well with patrons, as they relaxed and enjoyed the day. Although there was a $100 increase in the price of chicken this year, the event still pulled a huge crowd.

With a 90s dancehall theme surrounding the event this year, Wayne Wonder and Ghost took patrons on a trip down memory lane with their extensive catalogues before Ding Dong and Shenseea closed the curtains on another year of the competition.
