Digital One Productions principal Richard Roache wants to offer a source of hope and motivation to reggae lovers with his latest project, the 'Believe' rhythm.

Roache told THE STAR that even though the effort was four years in the making, he refused to give up.

"It meant too much for me to close the chapter on it," he said. "My hope is that the message and vibe do for people what they do for me. When I think of something I may be going through, especially when I'm driving or on a long journey, I listen to the project. Sometimes the instrumental will talk to me. It relaxes my mind and gives me the feeling of the core purpose of reggae, and I'm not just saying that because it is my project."

The project, which is co-produced with Real Squad Records and Zuduluss Records, was released last month.

The rhythm features 14 acts, including Jah Vinchi, Zamunda, G Whizz, Patexx, Badda General, and Savage. The latter is managed by Roache.

The producer added that it was challenging to get all the acts on the project but noted that each organically delivered tracks that complement the optimistic feel of the one-drop production.

"Everybody I sent the project knew the name of the rhythm, but I didn't give them the direction of where I wanted to go," he said. "Everybody came back with a song of inspiration. Even Savage, who is known for the dancehall 'girl' songs, has a song on it called Show Love, where he talks about love in a reggae format."

He hopes the production will gain more traction.

"The feedback has been overwhelming. Almost everybody I send it to likes it automatically," he said. "It's not the easiest thing to get support from the airplay side, and I wish I could get more from some other people, but I'm grateful."
