Hanover-based label ready to make musical impact - 6ix artiste Big Voice leading charge on new rhythm
Sheldon Brown, CEO of Gamblaz Production, says the Hanover-based label is ready to stamp its mark on the local music industry.
Brown revealed that with his family members from the Montego Bay-based Shabdon Records having sealed their place as a force to be reckoned with in production, the time has come for his label to also make some moves.
"Gamblaz Productions was formed based on the love of music. The music was a way of putting our energies into something positive because where we come from, it's easy to get caught up in other things," he said. "We are definitely ready to make our mark because a long time country yute have talent lock up and a time now fi release it. The artiste dem get dem break and now labels and producers go get dem run too."
Gamblaz Production recently released a rhythm called the 3rd Eye, which features 6ix's artiste Big Voice.
The artiste may not be one of the most prominent members of the dancehall group, but Brown believes all that will change once his track starts getting some attention.
"I want this song to get Big Voice the right respect and the right spotlight because he deserves it. Him and the label deserve it. We have been putting in the work and I'm sure there are other songs on the riddim that are going to take the spotlight as well," he said. "This riddim focuses on the yutes inna di ghetto from Jamaica, Trinidad, United States. Big Voice is the leading man on the riddim but we have a bad artiste outta Trinidad and one outta New York weh a gwaan wid things on the riddim too."
