For any child of Vybz Kartel, the man dubbed the current king of dancehall, a career in music is considered natural.

So when Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi made their debut back in 2014 with their single PG 13 Gimme Di Money, it came as no surprise to most Jamaicans.

But with the young artistes still in school and their parents being sticklers for good education, they seemed to have disappeared from the active music scene.

Now adolescents, the brothers have resurfaced. Their latest single, Skinny Jeans, was released on September 19 and has already been creating a buzz.

It has amassed more than 100,000 views in its first week, with hundreds of comments labelling the boys as the next big things in dancehall.

"Apple nuh fall far from the tree, the legacy continues," one YouTube listener commented.

"I always used to say World Boss will always live on and here it is. Big up Little Vybz and Little Addi," another posted on the popular streaming site.

GAZA TRAINING

In an interview with THE WEEKEND STAR, the incarcerated deejay's close friend and business partner Sikka Rhymes said the 'Worl Boss' is pleased with his sons' musical growth and maturity.

"Di student dem pattern di 'Teacha', and remember seh a no normal training dem get from birth, enuh, a Gaza training. Dem been have di DNA since birth and (longtime collaborators) TJ and Redboom guide dem inna recording so dem good," he said. "Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi are not under any management portfolio right now because it's still early days. They're just focusing more on the artistic side of music, like learning to write songs and honing their voices, especially in the booth, which is a tricky technique."

"The fact that they're still in school has a lot to do with them not committing 100 per cent, but it's their passion, so eventually they will become full-fledged artistes," he continued.

Sikka Rhymes also expressed that although Kartel has had limited communication with his sons due to his incarceration, he is happy with their decision.

"Like any father would if their son follow in their footsteps, him feel great. Him nuh really gi dem nuh advice cause is not like him an dem can communicate. But what he definitely would love is for them to make their own name and move their own crowd," Sikka Rhymes said. "That's why he didn't really give them the Gaza name, he gave them the UTG label, which is still Gaza, but it's their version of it. It's their version of how dem see di world."

Under the UTG label, Likkle Vybz and Likkle Addi are expected to drop their next single, Paid In Full.
