Recording artiste Fyah Sthar has wanted a career in music since he was 18 years old.

Music means so much to him, that even at age 40, he is still actively pursuing his dreams. As far as he’s concerned, there is no age limit or expiration date on one’s dreams.

“A lot of times I do sit and think about it (his age), but when I look at man like Burning Spear, who is still touring the world, it motivates me. The music has no limit, so I don’t limit myself,” he said, pointing out that people have never taken jabs at him because of his age. “Everybody knows Fyah Sthar is different. They know I’m probably not out there big time, but I have my own style and I’m in my own class. When a person have the potential, it’s a different thing because people will still see something working despite your age.”

Speaking of potential, the entertainer, who has toured extensively with reggae star I-Wayne, says his real supporters know it is only a matter of time before he gets his big break.

“People know what I’m capable of, they are aware of the name and the sound. I am known underground, I’m just waiting on the right songs,” he said. “And the right song(s) will come in time,” he told THE STAR. “I have a song out now called It’s Just Love by Kool Face records. I recently shot the video and it’s getting quite a buzz, creating a wave on social media. The feedback it’s getting from the people, it shows that the single has potential to really make it big time.”

Expounding on his tour life with I-Wayne, the entertainer revealed that he has a total of six songs with the Lava Ground singer.

In fact, he explained that he, I-Wayne and another friend named Buzhrock were a part of a group called Lava Ground Warriors.

HAPPY FOR I-WAYNE

Fyah Sthar expressed that when I-Wayne got his musical breakthrough in 2000, he was happy for him and to this day, does not have a shred of ‘bad mind’ for the entertainer.

“I’m the type of person who is all about the team, so when I-Wayne got his buss me never feel no way. I was looking at it from the perspective that if I Wayne make it, dat mean we can make it, too. I think that’s why I got so many songs with I-Wayne and toured so much with him, because I was never bad mind. He was comfortable with me. I am not scared of his talent or his success. Him getting his break was a blessing,” he said.

Still, while the artiste prefers to focus on the positive things in life, he admits there were times when he felt like giving up on music.

He expressed that like any other human being, he gets frustrated, but says his love for music keeps him going.

“You know the frustration gonna come, but when you love music and you live music and it’s a part of your life, the part weh say give up on it, that nah go far. Frustration is part of the business. The pressure is all part of the success, so if you want to be victorious as an artiste, you have to ride with the ups and the down,” he said.
