Sikka Rymes recovering after shooting incident

It seems the prayers of family and friends of dancehall artiste Sikka Rymes have not fallen on deaf ears, as THE WEEKEND STAR understands that the deejay is currently recovering at the Kingston Public Hospital.

Sikka Rymes was shot and injured in the vicinity of Sovereign Centre at approximately 3:45 on Sunday morning. It is reported that he was shot three times.

Gaza first lady Lisa Hyper did not divulge much when she spoke to THE WEEKEND STAR. Save for saying that the deejay was doing well post-surgery, Hyper did not give any details.

PRE-EXISTING CONDITION

News of his shooting left close friends and family anxious as the entertainer suffers from a pre-existing health condition. It was feared that that illness would complicate things for the deejay.

However, in an interview earlier this week, Hyper said that the family was hopeful as the entertainer was conscious and talking when he was brought to the hospital.

Five days after the incident, a motive for the attack is yet to be established. Police say investigations are ongoing.

Sikka Rymes is the latest protege of incarcerated deejay, Vybz Kartel. It is believed that while the deejay is behind bars, Rymes has been doing business on his behalf.
