D’Yani steps out in the UK
Nothing could really have prepared fast-rising act D'Yani and his management team for the glorious reception he received in the United Kingdom, where he performed for the new year.
"It was his first performance in the UK and it caught us all by surprise. We took three shows ... but even when we arrived, we were a bit unsure," Skatta Burrell of Downsound Records, the artiste's management, told THE STAR.
But to use a cliched term, D'Yani came, saw and conquered, so much so that two gigs were added to the original three. At his first show on New Year's Eve, the Feelings singer stepped out in a massive way and during his 30-minute set, indulged his female fans with all his hot songs and more than a glimpse of his shirtless body. From the videos in circulation, they adored it. And, with it being a brand new year, he handed out roses. It was a simple gesture which went a long way.
"We received so many pictures of girls posing with their roses. We have to love and respect the ladies, especially in times like this when it looks like we take the females for granted," Burrell declared, adding that it was a 1,500 capacity venue and there were more than 1,200 fans in attendance. D'Yani, in one word, was 'overwhelmed'.
"I saw the reaction from the ladies and the London massive and I am overwhelmed. I did 10 songs, including Heaven Telegram, Ride It, Feelings, Senorita, Vengeance and Made For This and the fans knew all the words. It just makes me want to create more music," D'Yani said.
Assessing his own on-stage live performance, which he has done very little of since his star started to rise during the pandemic, D'Yani said it was fair.
"I think I did well, but there is room for improvement. The aim is always to do better the next time. But I give thanks," he said.
