JayBlem upbeat about new track

Rising dancehall artiste JayBlem believes that he has a hit with his ladies' anthem, titled Twerk Fi Mi Dolly.

The track, which was produced by DJ Mac and Island Wav Music, has raked up over a million views on YouTube and continues to pick up pace in the dancehall arena and street parties.

"I am elated for this and I know this is my breakthrough song. The ladies love it and once a song is embraced by the females, then it will be shared on their social media pages. Challenges are being done and they are dancing and making videos. The dolly dem a twerk, man, and the top selector dem in the streets a run with it too," he said.

Twerk Fi Mi Dolly was released on June 10. JayBlem said that it was only natural that he developed a liking for dancehall as the genre is in his blood.

"My father is dancehall artiste Danny English so I was exposed to the genre from I was very young. I also grew up in Allman Town in Kingston and if anyone knows the inner city, you will know that there is always a dance or loud music playing somewhere. I really want to be a successful artiste and I think I have what it takes to do so. I treat my deejay career like a job so there is hardly any time to rest. I am always in the recording studios," he said.

The singjay, who is currently managed by Florida-based record label JB Productions, has also done work with a number of entertainers, including Chronic Law and Rytikal.
