Fourteen months following the death of his twin brother, Jaii Don, fast-rising singjay, Jhoe Speng, paid tribute to him with his debut single, A Better Place.

Jhoe Speng, whose given name is Sanjoe Spencer, shared that he had no idea he would dedicate the track to his brother, given name Sanjay Spencer, as it was a song they both worked on.

"This song was not created after the passing of Jaii. The inception of this song was when mi and him did inna the studio and one riddim start play and me start sing the chorus and him did a harmonise it, and it sound good and we did a record. Now shortly after him pass, mi did deh pon a bus and mi jus a go through me recordings like when we deh studio and get a vibe. We no wah forget it, we record it and me find it and say this is a RIP song weh mi did a mek with mi bredda and never know say mi haffi go dedicate it to mi bredda," he reflected.

The VybNation Records signed artiste said he completed the verses after his brother's passing to reflect what was happening around him.

"It was never easy for me because a one touchy topic and mi get emotional. It did mash me up a little way," he admitted.

They were both fully focused and determined to achieve success in the music, but Jhoe Speng admitted that Jaii Don wanted it much more than he did.

"Jaii Don woulda want all a the light and the shine where a music career is concerned more than me, a really fi him thing. A him start out a deejay and a sing and a write song and mi used to tell him say 'mi have a song fi you enuh' and mi did a tell him say a me a go be him producer and him manager. We start do it together because mi realise it work better and we a twin so why not," Jhoe Speng shared.

He said that he and his brother got started in music as children, reciting lines from their favourite songs.

"I remember going to school and every song weh drop, me and Jaii woulda study it word fi word and spit it out like a our song, especially when it was a song that featured two artistes. He would sing part and mi woulda sing part until people start love off the thing and say we fi do it by ourselves and become artistes," he shared.
