Three Westmoreland women are facing criminal charges following last week's fiery altercation at a gas station in Whithorn that a woman hospitalised in critical condition.

The victim was previously identified in a viral video as the woman who was doused with petrol and set ablaze during the dispute.

In an update, police confirmed that the incident, which occurred on Thursday, February 19, 2026, stemmed from an altercation between the parties that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the clash, a flammable substance was used, resulting in Forrester sustaining severe burn injuries. She was initially treated at a hospital in the parish before being transferred to Cornwall Regional Hospital for specialist care.

Investigators also confirmed that in the aftermath of the burning, the accused woman was allegedly stabbed by another female who intervened during the incident. Both women were hospitalised, and one remains under police guard. The woman accused of inflicting the stab wounds is in custody.

The Westmoreland Division has recorded statements and is preparing a case file for submission to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for a ruling. Charges are anticipated.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force has again urged members of the public to refrain from sharing graphic videos of the incident, noting the distressing nature of the footage now circulating online.

Investigations continue.
