All systems go for Burna Boy concert Sunday

It's all systems go for Sunday's concert featuring Grammy Award-winning Afrobeats star Burna Boy at the National Stadium.

The Nigerian juggernaut is set to bring his Love Damini tour to the Caribbean islands of Trinidad, Antigua and Jamaica this weekend and the excitement level is turned all the way up.

PR consultant for the event, Judith Bodley, told THE WEEKEND STAR that everything is on track and running smoothly as the countdown to Sunday's mega event gets under way.

"Twisted Entertainment, Duke Concepts and Solid Agency promise unmatched ease of access to Burna Boy Live and are looking forward to satisfying patrons with a world class event at the National Stadium," Bodley said.

Principal of Solid Agency, Sharon Burke, emphasised that she "remains committed to providing the best entertainment always in her Jamaican space".

Burke also spoke highly of "the constant support of not only sponsors, but also patrons who turn out event after event".

Burna Boy Live - the Concert Experience heralds the debut performance of the uber popular entertainer in Jamaica. Burna Boy's star continues to be in the ascendancy and Love, Damini, his latest album, and the single Last Last are nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Global Music Album and Best Global Music Performance categories respectively.

Jamaican entertainers, Popcaan and Lila Ike are also confirmed for the event, while Boom Boom, Chromatic, Renaissance, Bloodline Franco and DJ Mac will be in charge of the turntables. Miss Kitty has joined as host for the concert.

Tickets were offered on a tiered structure, with prices now being General (Bleachers) $6,000; General (Grandstand), $10,000; VIP $25,000; and VVIP $65,000.

Parking will be available at Heroes Circle and a Jamaica Urban Transport Company shuttle service is provided for General and VIP. VVIP will park at the stadium.

The promoters for Burna Boy Live are Duke Concept, which has hosted events in major venues across the globe, most especially in North America; Twisted Entertainment, originally from Barbados, which hosted Burna Boy in Barbados and Miami this year; and Fete Kingdom and Sho Entertainment, two Antigua-based event management companies which focus on producing international casted events and festivals.
