Up-and-coming dancehall recording artiste and songwriter Leeto Leethal aims to be different with his musical approach, as he targets his big break in the dancehall space.

Born Pauleto Williams, the newcomer, who was born and raised in Morant Bay, St Thomas, explained that he infuses pain, as well as dark and conscious emotions with reggae and dancehall beats in order to influence a wide section of people.

"I started music in 11th grade in Wolmer's Boys' School (2018), when a friend introduced me to a music-producing software called FL Studio, and from there I created a beat and brought it to an artiste from my community. That artiste encouraged me to build a song on that said beat. The song was poorly written, being that it was my first time writing a song, and I recorded it at Deano Deann's studio. It was then that I developed a liking for writing and recording music," he said.

Leeto Lethal said that even though he recorded many songs, it was in March that he started releasing songs officially, thanks to his music mentor, Selvin 'Thunda' Williams of Thunder Records. Williams also has a studio in the artiste's community of Bamboo River.

The Visa To a Different Planet artiste described his music as authentic and being a microcosm of society.

"I would describe my music as mainly reality music, because it mostly speaks about what is taking place in my surroundings and past experiences in life that most people can relate to," he said.

Although he is optimistic about his chances in music, he admitted that there are challenges.

"As a new artiste, my main challenge is music promotion because currently, I am not yet signed to a record label, and so everything solely depends on me and my team, and music is costly, especially promoting it. Another challenge is picking topics that are not common, because I like being different," he said.
