Chris Gayle continues making strides in music

Following the debut of the Tropical House Cruises to Jamaica: The Asian Edition album at No. 1 on the USA iTunes Reggae Album Charts in December, superstar batsman and recording artiste Chris Gayle said he will not remain complacent.

The self-proclaimed 'Universe Boss', who is the headline act on the project, highlighted that the music promotion will intensify.

"Yes, we are doing social media campaigns for the holidays to drive up sales and streams," he said. "For the new year, I will be releasing new singles and videos, and I will be promoting the album in India heavily."

At the same time, he said he was always confident about the prospect of the project doing well, but the top-spot placement exceeded his expectations.

"I knew we would do well because we have some big names in reggae on the album, as well as Ms Lauryn Hill. But I had no idea we would do well enough to debut at No. 1 on iTunes," he admitted.

Gayle added that the recognition was even more satisfying, since he made his album debut on this project.

"It was a great feeling, because it's the first album I have been on and also on my label, Triple Century Records, alongside Contractor Music," he said.

Gayle has two songs on the album, Choco Loco Remix with Camar, and Gimme Love with Shav A.
