Reggae singer Jahmiel, whose performance at Sting was one of the ways in which he brought the curtain down on a successful 2022, is anticipating finding even more favour this year with his music which "reflects good over evil".

If his Instagram account is anything to go by, Jahmiel is in full work mode. Of the 64 pictures there currently, 61 of them are of beautiful ladies in their favourite dress, and that's intentional. Favourite Dress, produced by Sweet Music productions, is the title of his first release for 2023.

" Favourite Dress is a nice love song dedicated to the ladies; as you know, I have a lot female fans. I can't wait to see their reactions," he said, adding, "I see the ladies loving this one all over the world; it has an international vibe to it. I declare a hit."

He is also putting the finishing touches on an EP which has a February release date. "That's for the ladies and it's gonna create a wave...trus' mi," he said.

Reflecting on 2022, Jahmiel had reason to 'pop his collar'.

"It was a very productive year for me in music. My second studio album was released, called Legend, and I also went to a few new places outside my country to perform," Jahmiel said.

The 16-song Legend, which features collaborations with Bugle, Masicka, Stonebwoy and Vershon, debuted at number six on the US Current Reggae Albums charts in April. In November, he visited Malawi for the first time, and reports indicate that Jahmiel was well received by the Africans. He said that he wasn't surprised by their embrace.

"I know I have a lot of supporters in Africa. Malawi was all love ... I felt appreciated for all the energy I've put into the music over the years. I might not be popular right now in some places, but the world is a big place," Jahmiel said.

Of his performance at the Boxing Day gala, he shared, "I enjoyed my performance at Sting recently, and we're getting a lot of positive feedback even now from those who were present in the crowd. It's actually my fourth time being on [the] Sting stage, and it has always been a good experience for me."

Jahmiel, who was baptised in 2021, emphasised that he's "on a journey of living righteously, and doing so isn't limited to no religion, it's from within".

"Jahmiel is for the people, whether Christian, Muslim, etc. I stand on good over evil, and that's what my music reflects," he said.
