Wassdemm Di Ballgame King ready for breakthrough
Driven by his passion for choreography and dancing, dancer Wassdemm Di Ballgame King has been making the right moves as he does the necessary groundwork to become a household name in the music industry.
Born Jerome Dwyer, the Hope Flats, St Andrew native began dancing as a child and never looked back. He can be seen dancing up a storm in reggae artiste Shaka Pow's Fully Bright music video.
"I started by listening to music, then started watching music videos and other ... local and international dancers. Then I started trying some moves off them from what I saw, and after I realised that I could do it; then family and friends started telling me that me neat... so I take it up seriously," shared Wassdemm Di Ballgame King.
He has already created a number of dance moves that have been garnering attention. Some of them have football themes, including 'Kick to goal', 'Control', 'Pass di ball' and 'Dribble dribble'.
" [There is also] 'Watch di flow', 'Fully bright', 'Inna your brain', 'Book walk, 'School walk' and others," he shared. He attributed his creativity to listening to sounds and music and doing much research.
When asked what separates him from other dancers, he said, "Creativity, knowing the music, experience, neatness and flows." He also reasoned that dancers are significant players in the music industry.
"We endorse, show and create the moves to the music, so persons can do it and enjoy it as well," he said. "[We] can help curb [the breakdown in] the nation by creating positive, intelligent and respectable dance moves, instead of sexy and violent dance moves."
