Minister Marion Hall claps back in the name of Jesus - Says she is ignoring noise from critics

Whether Christian or atheist, Minister Marion Hall is not allowing herself to become distracted or discouraged by naysayers of either community, she told THE STAR.

"I care zero about them [because] I know God is doing a new thing in me. I'm definitely not paying any attention to the noise on social media. Social media is a place where the devil resides. I mean, people of God, yes, we are trying our best to make a change concerning that but I'm not even paying any attention over there. I don't even go on it," Hall said, while admitting that when her new music was released, she did utilise social media platforms to spread the word.

"I just dropped the song there, and I hosted a live too. But the unnecessary noise, I'm not giving any attention because the last time I paid attention to all these kinds of things, I got myself all caught up in gossip and all that stuff, trolls and patrols, which I don't want to be a part of. I'm not about that. So it's not for me, I learned my lesson," she continued.

The once-proclaimed Queen of Dancehall caused quite a commotion last week with the release of her Downsound Entertainment-produced single I'm Doing Better, and more so, with the image used for the cover art, which features her in a sexy, sheer black corset top. However, the song is a musical testimony of the emotional breakdowns she has had over the past two years, Hall said, and she has been responding to her critics through music.

"I was never one to shy away from clapping back. I clap in the name of Jesus, that's what I do. You know, I'm just telling the devil and his offspring, it never works. It just didn't work. The Lord said I shall live and not die to declare that he is God. To declare His word, God is not a man that He should lie," she said. Prior to I'm Doing Better, Hall had released the track Sorry to Hurt Your Feelings, which she explained, "was just saying that 'I'm right here to say, and after all that you have put me through all that you have done to me, it never work! Sorry to hurt your feelings, okay, and I'm doing better'". Hall said that she has experienced depression and anxiety attacks.

"I tell you, if it wasn't for the Lord God who speak to me on a regular and directed me on how to come out of that valley, I don't know where I'd be today. So, I'm Doing Better is really about me doing way better than my last year, my last month, my last week, and my yesterday. Any might I had, it's all because of the grace of God why I'm doing better," she said.

The minister shared her excitement about being added to the Reggae Sumfest line-up and said that she was happy just to know people were loving the new music.

"I'm just very excited, you know, concerning the direction and where it's going. I'm elated, really, and I know I'm going to be more excited when it comes to the video shoot because it's gonna be so good," she said.
