Reggae-dancehall veteran Anthony B has urged persons to be patient when they go about building their careers.

The artiste and published author made his debut in the late 1980s on a popular sound system, and though many within the reggae-dancehall fraternity were focused on recording raunchy material, he was reluctant to take the easier route to gain popularity.

Anthony B made his debut in 1993 -30 years ago - with the single The Living Is Hard, and continued on a similar trajectory, recording lyrics that were focused on socio-political issues.

He has garnered major success with songs such as Fire Pon Rome, Raid The Barn, Mr Heartless, King In My Castle among others. His latest album, Bread and Butter, has been steadily gaining traction. In addition, his song, Everybody, which is a collaboration with Busy Signal, and the single, My Day Will Come, have captured the imagination of fans.

"This song speaks truth to the youths; it is for them to know that their day will come and that everyone gets their moment to shine," Anthony B shared.

"Nowadays, people only believe in the quick and fast and try to run down things instead of making things run its course. There are too many youths dying because of a lack of patience," he continued.

Anthony B, whose given name is Keith Blair, will celebrate his 47th birthday on March 31. He will be in Daytona Beach, Florida, for the Reggae at the Rock Festival before heading to Texas for the Dallas Reggae Festival.

"For the rest of the year, I will be on most of the major festivals in the US and Europe, and the album tour starts in the summer," the artiste shared.
