Fya Doops tackles social issues men face on new single
Reggae/dancehall artiste Fya Doops is basking in much success following the release of his single, Thugz Bawl.
Directed at the issue of mental and emotional health in males, the track unearths and destroys the myth that men are weak if they show emotions.
The track is produced by Portland-based production company Yawdcore Music. Fya Doops said that the feedback has been overwhelming.
"The song has allowed the streets to realise that men face issues too and sometimes we need support as the kings of the earth. Fans have been messaging me on social media sharing how the track resonates with them and how it boosts their mental energy. I believe this song is on its way to being one of reggae's most impactful tracks," he said.
In a heartfelt chorus Fya Doops sings " Sometimes thugz bawl, but mi cyah give up none tall, and mi nuh know a weh mi love gone, mi heart tun wall, mi whole family wah si mi downfall, Jah hear mi cry, mi haffi shout cause ... ."
Based on the positive impact, the artiste decided to shoot an official video, which he released a week ago on his official Vevo channel. It has since garnered thousands of views, hundreds of comments and several creator videos across content apps.
Currently one of his most successful singles, Fya Doops plans on continuing his current promotional campaign while he readies his EP.
The artiste, who recently shared a stage with Popcaan and Chronic Law in his home parish of Portland, shared that he believes he has all the necessary characteristics to dominate the industry.
"When you do good music, you get real support and I have that from my fans. The real people know and support me and I am grateful, because every day they share my music and more real people tune in, one day very soon all the real people in the world will be tuned in. I believe in my craft and I plan on continuing to positively add to my country's genres of music," he said.
