Dancehall artiste Pamputtae is in a reflective mood following her recent performance at Pride Toronto's 25th anniversary in Canada, as she maintains that she made a good decision to perform at the LGBTQ event despite backlash.

The Slim vs Fluffy singer was making her second Pride performance having already done one in Jamaica in 2021. But her recent outing was her debut performance for Pride in Canada and she admitted that she enjoyed every moment. She praised the audience for being interactive and receptive to her set.

"My performance at Pride was epic; it was well received, they knew the songs, they sing back, it was very nice, it was lovely, it was awesome. The audience plan fi me. Dem know the song dem, dem know Pamputtae, dem know the style dem, dem know everything. Once mi start mi song dem, dem know it," Pamputtae shared.

Her set included many of her hits such as Advertisement, Goody Good, Single Mother, Ride It and God and Time.

Pamputtae admitted that it was an easy decision for her to perform at the festival despite some negative feedback she received mainly from social media.

"The decision never hard, mi just know say mi get call fi work and mi a go work like any other work, and mi a go do it to the best a mi ability just like anywhere else," she said.

"Yes, mi get backlash, but at the end of the day, mi cyaah bring nobody go a Heaven and nobody cyaah bring me. Every man response fi dem own sin. Mi jus a put in mi work and do wah mi haffi do. Promoters don't really trouble me or concerned about me doing a show like Pride. It's just like one and few Instagram posts and stuff like that, but promoter no really respond to that," she said.
