Nyjah releases ‘Sugar Plum’ rhythm

Singjay Nyjah has experienced a lot of frustration since he began his recording career in 2000, but three years ago, he decided to start his own company to produce and promote his songs.

The dreadlocked artiste operates Mishka Production with business partner Michelle Moncrieffe. Their latest release is the 'Sugar Plum' rhythm which has songs by Nyjah, Brando, Hawkeye and Thriller U.

"It feel good when yuh can focus on your own ting an' get di songs out when yuh want. Wi used to get frustrated dat di producer dem not putting out di songs," he said.

The debut project for Mishka Production was Nyjah's song, Lovestruck, which was released in 2020. For the Sugar Plum rhythm, he recorded the single Lifetime but also reached out to the aforementioned artistes.

Walk Away is Thriller U's song on the rhythm, while Hawkeye does Online. Saudi Arabia is the title of Brando's song.

Originally from St Thomas, Nyjah started his music career using the moniker Impact. His first released song was Dutty Bwoy for producer Colin 'Iley Dread' Levy.
