Gramps Morgan buys beachfront property in St Thomas

Renowned reggae artiste Gramps Morgan has acquired lands in the Sun Coast Beach Club Housing Development in St Thomas and is set to construct a house which will overlook the sea.

The artiste said his decision to invest in the property, located at Twelve Miles, is a testament to his deep-rooted affection and dedication to the parish.

A member of the Grammy-winning siblings group, Morgan Heritage, the United States of America-born Gramps has strong roots in St Thomas. His family's property, Heritage Estate, which serves as the home base for Morgan Heritage, is located in Port Morant, about an hour from the Sun Coast Beach Club site.

Gramps Morgan told THE WEEKEND STAR that he became aware of the Sun Coast Beach Club development while heading to Port Morant.

"I found it very interesting, especially with the property being on the coastline of Jamaica. This truly was a no-brainer. I saw the project as a great investment for my family in the future as well," he said.

Sun Coast Beach Club Housing Development, a 90-acre beachfront property, overlooks the tranquil Caribbean Sea on Jamaica's largely untouched south-east coast. The development, which is in its infancy stage, is strategically situated near the Southern Coastal Highway, a vital artery which, when completed, is expected to propel St Thomas into a bustling hub of commerce and progress.

"I have intentions to live there. The land is already purchased and construction will start very soon," the singer said of the house he will be constructing.

Kevin Frith, CEO of Sun Coast Beach Club, has expressed immense satisfaction with Gramps Morgan's affiliation with the project.

The developers of Sun Coast Beach Club said it is set to be a "paradise home", "resort-styled gated residential community". Located 15 minutes from Kingston, the property which sits on 90 acres of beachfront property will offer Mediterranean-like living with an amazing package of amenities for comfort and convenience, they said.

In the meantime, Gramps Morgan's enthusiasm extends beyond his personal investment. He aspires to motivate fellow musicians to explore financial ventures beyond their artistic pursuits.

"I want to continue to inspire many of my young colleagues that are in music to use their brand and discover themselves as entrepreneurs, and several of them already are for a very long time," he said.

"We, as a people, spend a lot of money on the wrong things and I just want to help to be the voice to remind everyone close to me to invest their money right," said The People Like You singer.
