Rasta British seeks breakthrough with new EP

US-based, Jamaica-born recording artiste Rasta British is upbeat about his EP, Reality of the Dragga.

"It has eight tracks and another bonus single. I spent a lot of time writing and recording the singles, but track one remains close to my heart because of the message that it expresses. The song is called Journey and it speaks to some of the lessons that I have learnt in this journey called life. It speaks about putting faith in the wrong persons and just having have to work hard for everything that I have. It's really inspirational and one that people will like," he said.

Released on July 13, Reality of the Dragga also features singles such as Plan, Money Up, and Pretty little Freak.

"I have been doing music for years, which means this is my passion. I have done a lot of songs over the years which have got good rotation, but I am hoping that this EP will put mi mainstream and that I will get a couple of hits out of it. Mi a look fi get some tour from it, as well as just watch it top up the charts them. This EP shows my growth as an artiste and so far, the fans dem a like it," he said.

Release of the Dragga features production work from CHO Records, SosahOnTheBeat and Mechanic Inc.

Rasta British, whose given name is Clive Somers, was born in Trelawny, but migrated to the US when he was 12 years old. His interest in music was sparked during his teens, and he was a member of a high-school group called Mad Squad.
