Being the brother of veteran dancehall and reggae artiste Capleton has not offered a certainty of success for Cavaley Foreign Accent, who recently rebranded himself and is putting out fresh music.

"The meaning of my Cavaley Foreign Accent is all me and it defines me. Cavaley is the one that raps, and Foreign Accent loves to create more of a futuristic singing music. My name comes with different personalities, nothing crazy, but musically my style is way more different from everyone else. So is my name, because I created it myself," said the artiste, who changed his name from Hitech Cavaley.

Cavaley Foreign Accent, whose given name is Delroy Bailey, hails from St Mary but migrated to the US. He has been doing music for some time, but isn't deterred that he has yet to get the big break. He said his friends used to call him 'Little Capes', as he looked and sounded like his brother when he was a child.

"But after growing up, I thought I needed to be walking in my own shoes and find myself. So I created a new me, which is Cavaley Foreign Accent, that's going to define my style and flow because I don't deejay dancehall music any more; I do international music," he explained.

He said his latest single, Prayer, focuses on providing guidance to persons as they go about their daily lives.

"It is for all the people's souls who needed guidance in their life's journey in their going and their coming. We all needed guidance from God so I'm putting God first, which everyone should do, and that's what this song is about, guidance," he said.

Prayer is his first release for 2023, and he just dropped two mixtapes, Thank You and Rage!

"Now I am working on the third one, which will be dropping in the next two months from now, and I'm now shooting two videos for both mixtapes dropping next month," he added.

Currently, he is residing in New York and has a new management staff. He is recording a crossover album with rapper Angelo, with features from heavy hitters such as Busta Rhymes. His album will infuse dancehall with hip-hop, with an authentic Jamaican flavour.
