Sunshine Velvet heats things up with new single

Dancehall artiste Sunshine Velvet is in a jubilant mood about her new single, Ooh My Gosh.

The vivacious singjay is confident that the single, which was produced by New York-based producer Conroy Smith, will be a hit.

"I am feeling extremely excited. I think this is the best dancehall song I have recorded so far. It's going to surprise my fans, because of its lyrical content. It's a very sexy song, and the video is very steamy. I must admit that it's a bit raunchy. I am just showing my versatility as an artiste, but I am sure the fans are going to love it. I think it's going to be one of the biggest dancehall songs of the year," said the artiste.

She also revealed that her journey in the music industry has not been easy, especially since the passing of her late husband Sycure Gyani, who was also a recording artiste. He died in a motorcycle accident in St Mary last year.

"What keeps me going after such a terrible ordeal is prayer and my determination to succeed. I have to stay strong because I have something great to accomplish, not only for myself, but the few people who believe in me. I am going to finish what my husband started," said Sunshine Velvet.

The outspoken entertainer also offered words of advice for up-and-coming female artistes.

"Stay firm and work hard to achieve your goals. Let your talent speak for itself, and never compromise your principles to achieve success," she said.
