‘Nerro’ lashes ‘talkative’ scammers
Following the release of his new hit single 'As A Choppa', dancehall artiste Nerro is dismissing claims he is using his platform to "lash" scammers.
Instead, he says his grouse is with persons engaged in the act who use various public mediums to broadcast their exploits.
“Just stop chat bredda because the more yuh chat, is the more information you a give out. Mi nah bash nuh scammer because everywhere yuh look is bare scamming…We just have to protect ourselves and don’t fall in the trap,” he said in a conversation with the STAR.
The artiste, who is the son of reggae legend Barrington Levy, compared some scammers to talking parrots, stating that their ‘braffing’ is what results in them being behind bars.
“Mi just want the man dem to do the right ting and uplift dem selves. Build some big mansions and companies and come employ people and contribute to the economy. Just stop waste uno money and stop chat off uno mouth dawg,” he said.
Earlier this year, the Major Organised Crime & Anti-Corruption Agency urged the public to be on the lookout for persons who are renting properties in upscale communities to carry out illegal activities.
The agency said it has noticed a worrying trend of persons, particularly those involved in lottery scamming, renting upscale Airbnb apartments and using these premises as a location for their crimes.
