Heavyweights line up for ‘Heaven Gates’ rhythm

Dancehall heavyweights Chronic Law, Jah Vinci, Jahshii and Laden pour their emotions on the 'Heaven Gates' rhythm.

Eastern Entertainment Promotions, which is known for hosting top-tier events, debuted its first-ever various artistes' compilation on Friday. Rayon Thompson, producer and CEO of Eastern Entertainment Promotions, said it was just a matter of time before the team ventured into producing music.

"Over the years of booking artistes for our events such as Eastern Extravaganza, Oops! Brunch In The Arena and Family, just to name a few, we have developed a close relationship with most artistes, if not all that we have worked with whether directly or indirectly," he said.

In addition to the aforementioned heavyweights, the Heaven Gates rhythm features up-and-coming artistes such as Black Fyah, Shaq Star and Don Tempo, Tandre, Xout Boss and Hot Turbine who showed growth in their delivery and message. The compilation was built and mixed by renowned producer Baby G, along with popular producer Spider. Baby G, whose given name is Trevor James, said that the rhythm is not a one drop; it is a dancehall beat with a hip-hop fusion with drums.

"We made the beat with a slow tempo to gain more clarity from the artistes," he said. Jah Vinci also released the visuals for his soulful anthem Faith on Friday, with heartfelt lyrics wrapped around his silky vocals.

Thompson also shared that, while promoting the debut rhythm, the entity is gearing up for the ninth staging of Eastern Extravaganza, to be held at the Mountain View Oval on January 1, 2024.
