There has been criminality among so-called ghetto youth in Jamaica for decades, and lack of jobs is usually one of the reasons given for them taking up the gun.

Sixy Morris addresses this age-old matter on Fih Real, a hardcore roots song he co-produced with Carlton Hines. In it, he sings about the ghetto youth's refusal to meet societal norms, preferring the criminal path to feed himself and his family.

"Let me declare that we're not advocating violence. But the message is absolutely relevant and sincere. Most youths in our inner city today are not trying to hear nothing that the so-called government and leaders may have to say," Morris said.

Fih Real features Sly and Robbie and guitarist Earl 'Chinna' Smith on a 'one-drop' rhythm reminiscent of the 'Riddim Twins' heyday of the late 1970s.

The song reunites Morris with Hines. They first met in New York during the 1990s and collaborated on several songs.
