From Kingston to Las Vegas and the high seas, veteran singer Wayne Wonder says wherever he performs, he sees new fans dancing to songs from his heyday of the 1990s.

He believes it says something for the music he made, especially in that era. The singer recorded a formidable cache of songs during that period, including Joyride (which he performed with Cham), Keep Them Coming and Bonafide Love (Movie Star), a memorable collaboration with Buju Banton. Fans still jam to those tracks, as well as No Letting Go, his biggest hit which was released in 2002.

"It's amazing to know that the next generation embrace di music. No Letting Go, 100 million streams ... a di kids dem an' di streaming a spread it now," said Wayne Wonder.

On December 2, he performed at the Footloose retro party at Mas Camp in St Andrew, followed two days later by the Welcome To Jamrock Cruise. Last week, he worked the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

His latest single, Because It's Time, is a multi-artiste song by White Flag. The project also features Vincentian singer Kevin Lyttle (of Turn Me On fame), rapper Sean Kingston, American singer Mya and a host of acts from Latin America.

Originally from Franklin Town in east Kingston, Wayne Wonder said he was drawn to the song's message of stopping gang violence throughout the world. Because It's Time is co-produced by Jamaican Sean Roy Strachan.
