Dream come true as Tearah readies for Sting
Recording artiste Tearah is set to make his Sting debut on December 26.
Well aware that the platform is one of dancehall's biggest stages, the entertainer is looking to use his Boxing Day performance to catapult his career to the next level.
"Sting is not just a show for big artistes. A deh so nuff man go and get dem buss. I was extremely disappointed when it was discontinued because that was one of the shows that was a hallmark in dancehall culture. It was an event that showcased the best of the music and basically put a lot of artistes to the forefront of the world," he said.
"I was happy to see its return. I think my first time at Sting is going to be one for the books. I've waited for this moment and so this is a dream come true as you can imagine. It's a highly anticipated moment, an opportunity for me to showcase my talent and show the world the work I have been putting in."
Admitting that he grew up watching and taking notes from the dancehall legends who owned the Sting stage, Tearah said the gravity of the opportunity to perform at the event is not lost on him.
"Everyone who was someone in the dancehall industry wanted to be on the Sting stage on Boxing Day. Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, Spice and nuff more artiste came alive on the Sting stage and are now icons in the industry in their own right. I know what that stage can do and I am looking forward to my performance. I'm coming to deliver with professionalism and showcase what I've been preparing for my whole life," he said.
